This is a very hard-to-find, highly desirable Patek Philippe Ref. 5970 in white gold. This magnificent timepiece boasts a perpetual calendar, chronograph (with tachometer), and day/date. When Patek Philippe discontinued the legendary Ref. 3970 in 2005, there was a public outcry. In many ways, however, this watch is even more beautiful than its predecessor, Ref. 3970. First of all, the watch is 40mm in diameter and offers both a solid and sapphire crystal back. Secondly, the lugs on this watch are slightly flared, imparting an absolutely stunning vintage look (further accentuated by the pink gold case). The watch is powered by Patek Philippe’s highly regarded manually wound Calibre 27-70Q, a movement in which every single component – down to the tiniest screw – is meticulously hand-finished by a Patek Philippe master watchmaker. The silver dial is extremely attractive and has date/date, moonphases, and tachometer functions. This watch is water resistant to 25 meters (with the solid back attached) and represents the pinnacle of watchmaking both in terms of design and craftsmanship.
